Effective Leadership for Gospel Growth

We warmly invite church leadership teams to join us at a conference with Andrew Heard focused on helping us build leadership structures and church-wide ministry teamwork which is effective in making our churches engines of real gospel growth.

This is not a preaching conference, but rather the aim is to help churches organise their ministry and church life for much more effective ministry and mission.

Andrew Heard is Senior Pastor of EV Church, on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia.  He was nurtured in ministry in Sydney Diocese but later moved up the coast to plant an Anglican church there in a liberal diocese.  Subsequently, EV left the Anglican church and were the first church forming FIEC Australia. EV is now a large, and still growing, church with some 2000 members, but it began in Andrew’s home, with a small group of committed believers, and he thus has experience of churches of every size, from tiny to extremely large, and the differing issues faced at each different stage of growth.

Andrew is one of the most influential conservative evangelical leaders in Australia, and particularly gifted at helping with the mechanics of church life – how to organise ministry and church much more purposefully for mission.  His engineering background helps him to be a great thinker about the systems every church has (whether they know it or not) and the functioning of which either boost or block the church’s effectiveness for the gospel. He is a passionate advocate of team pastoring, that is, building structures that will help create a whole ‘ministry ecosystem’ to nurture church growth by ensuring that there is effective gospel teamwork throughout the whole life of the church.

We are delighted that Andrew has been willing to come over to spend some time with us here in Scotland. Many have learned a huge amount from his wisdom and experience, and we believe this conference has the potential to be a seminal time for our ministries in the west of Scotland. We urge churches in the partnership to prioritise this vital conference, and book up to come together as leadership teams (church staff, elders, and other key leaders) for what promises to be a formative time for many.

Date, Time and Tickets

The conference will be hosted by The Tron Church at the central location (25 Bath St, G2 1HW), on Friday evening (21st Feb), 7:30-9:30pm (doors open 7pm) and Saturday (22nd Feb) 9:30-4pm.

Tickets are £15 per person, which will include morning coffee and lunch on the Saturday.

Places will be limited, so please book as early as possible.

SPEAKER: DR RICHARD PRATT  - Wednesday 18th June 2014 (7.30pm)

The Tron Church (Bath Street, Glasgow)

The world is now in the third millennium since Christ came, and the Church’s worldwide task is greater than ever. In the West, the christianised era is rapidly being left behind, and the church faces an unevangelised, often hostile society. In many ways the 21st Century is more like the 1st Century than ever before. The need is huge, and leadership in the churches is vital. How are we to respond, and how are we to train leaders for the task to day?

This event is free and everybody is welcome. For more details, please contact the Tron office (0141 332 2795).
